foot drawings & modified fit order service
Supplying us with profiles of your feet doesn't neccessarily mean you need a modified fit, we just need to get more details of your feet to enable us to size you. If you do need, we can modify our patterns to accomodate minor alterations at an extra cost of £35.00. If our assessment of your drawings shows that you require major alterations to, or for us to make new patterns for you, we will advise you to book an appointment with our specialist fitter. Appointments are on weekdays only and the shoes will cost an extra £125.00 over the standard price if fitted and made by the specialist.
Phone 01803 862490 for an appointment or advice.
If you wear orthotics you will need to make an appointment and visit the shop.
Follow the instructions below to produce a foot drawing or visit our shop for a personal fitting.
Step 1
You will need: Two sheets of thin A4 paper (one for each foot), a sharp pencil, a dressmakers tape measure (measurements must be in millimeters), and a friend. NB Very thick socks or using a thick pen can make a size difference so wear the socks you intend to wear with your new shoes.
Step 2
Stand naturally with one foot on each piece of paper on a hard surface.
Step 3
Ask your friend to draw round both feet using a sharp pencil. KEEP THE PENCIL UPRIGHT AT ALL TIMES, especially at the heel.
Step 4
Lift your toes up off the paper and ask your friend to slip the tape measure under each foot in turn to make a measurement around your feet.
Step 5
The measurement should be in millimetres, all the way around the foot at the widest part (from the big toe joint to the protruding joint behind the little toe joint). Before removing the tape, mark its position and the dimension in mm on the foot drawings.
Step 6
Your finished drawings/profiles should look similar to this (see illustration 6).
Please also make notes on the profiles of any problems you normally have when buying shoes.
Send your foot drawings with your name, address, contact number, usual shoe size, choice of style, colour and sole.
